At the time I thought so too, but later I looked back on it and realized there was many mistakes that I felt I should have caught. It was a learning experience though.

We all make mistakes when we're just starting. And when you get better, you always see what could have been improved on in your earlier works, XD. But I think you did a pretty amazing job. It's certainly better than what I made when I was just starting.

Thank you! Getting that perfect orangey/yellow/gold/brown was a little challenging. I'd seen that color combination used before to illuminate faces especially in movie posters so I wanted to give it a go.

I was reading some comment......don't worry about atmosphere too dark because the topic relative to darkness is really hard and all the things of this life require only practice! In any case the work is perfectly legible.

Thank you! I do feel that the candles are off a bit though. I can't quite put my finger on it but there is something I don't like about them. I guess I will have to practice with more candles hehe.

I think that maybe the candles that you find a bit off may be too fat. Perhaps slender candles would have worked better?

Yes maybe that's it... Also I think I made the atmosphere too dark. At the time it looked right but I think it's because my eyes acclimated to it. When I came back with fresh eyes it looked much darker.

Thanks! This was my first real night time picture. It was really hard for me to guess the proper glow and lighting. I suppose with more practice it will come easier. This was really fun though and I'm glad you like it!

I find them hard as well.. but you did SO much better than I did on even my first three tries at it! Ha! You did great.. night for me has been so difficult to figure out.. I'm so proud of you for doing so well especially on your first one!
And yes, with practice all of it gets easier!
