Yay, finally. A reference sheet for Scylla.How I came about with her is another story. She was originally an assignment in a storyboard class. Then after I drew Scylla, Tarik immediately followed, and these two screamed at me for a story. HENCE, the story of Chasm Crossing came to life from there. Her design hasn't changed much since her creation. I added a few more feathers and made them less distinct so I wouldn't have to worry about details too much when animating her. (Also one of the minor reasons why she's a white dragon
) Her expressions are killer as well. I just can't get enough doodling them XD

This looks awsome! The furry/feathery look reminds me of Shiron from legendz. I always got a kick out dragons that weren't covered with scales, it makes tehm a bit more interesting, since scaled ones are seen all the time.

So I'm guessing she has the ability to change side? Given that here it says 11ft and in most drawings and animations she is, though there are others where she's really tiny.Β

A very well thought-out character (well, referring to the animation aspect) I think a lot of people like doing flashy characters, then when they go for an animation, don't realize just how difficult getting all the markings right WHILE in motion can be. You really thought ahead on this one, making the design both lovable and interesting, yet simple enough to be put into a well animated clip. I also admire the incredible talent you have for lighting, and for perspective in both animation and artwork. quite commendable if I do say so myself ^^

haha, thanks. Yes, I agree that simplifying a character is important for animators (or we be stuck on a piece of animation for so long that it'll almost become ridiculous. But the down side is that simplified characters are simple while flashy characters tend to be more favored (due to being complicated and (sometimes) nice looking).

hmm... I know what you mean. Though I think the personalities make up for the lack of colored 'pizazz' everyone seems to like so much in their characters. I for one prefer the plain white wolves of princess mononoke over most brightly colored pooches on DA simply because the personalities and story behind them is so dazzling. same goes for any animal or dragon lol

yeah, totally agree with you there. If the back story isn't good to your flashy character, (or be a cliche classic tragic story XD) then your characters aren't very appealing despite how colorful and 'unique' they are
