The buttons are showing up as coding in the live preview?

I created an Gallery Skin which is based on this Journal skin too. If you like I can submit you my code to share it, or shall I share it on my site?
If you want to take a look Here is a link to the applied skin:Β artofphotograhy.deviantart.comβ¦

You're welcome. I see. The icons are really nice, i really like that about this skin. I just wish there were more DA friendly icons or more choices. Its not a big setback of the skin, its really my only critique about it. Everything else is great, the bullets, texture, simpler less distracting textures and colors. Have you ever considered making this a series and doing this skin in other colors?

hello. i'm crikkly and will be getting premium membership very soon. i have been on deviantART before and left for awhile, then decided to return. i installed this lovely journal skin and did a quick test to see if it would work. and than i noticed; the paragraph was a endless line of words, and the 'comments' hover link was above the 'devious title' hover link. i read, than reread your 'artists comments' and saw that you had tried tweaking the code. i got somewhat frustrated because i didn't know when the update was, i uninstalled the journal skin than reinstalled it and went through the process once more, only to find that i had the same results. this is a great journal skin and i would absolutely love to use it, but if i have continuess problems than that is impossible. please enlighten me;
sincerly,
~crikkly

Hiya, sorry for the very late reply. The skin needs a lot of updating but unfortunately on the current system that isn't possible without uploading it as a completely new deviation.
The issue I ran in to with the comments link as you've described, is that the journal text has to be longer than the title to ensure the comments link is below that area. This journal really isn't for short journals I'm afraid.
Sorry again

I really love this journal skin. But when I was just about to publish my journal I decided to preview it. Well when I looked at the preview it had showed text instead of the facebook, website, flicker, etc icons. Luckily I was able to mess around with the code for a little bit and was able to fix the problem. I also took out a few icons due to the fact that I only have a website and facebook. I hope by changing any of this that I am not infringing upon any of your work. Thanks again for making this skin available to me.

You may need to take out the bits that are showing as text on the preview. There have been some updates to the way dA handles CSS and unfortunately there is no way to edit already uploaded skins. I would have to upload it as a new deviation completely with the fixes.

I noticed this in the live preview too, not sure how to fix it-- but the buttons up top DO work, but to the left of them is the text jumble of the same link. Any way I can tweak the CSS to fix it to where it's only the buttons again? You can look at my journal for what I mean, but like I said, it also shows up in the live preview.

Nice journal skin. Needed a new skin for my journal and this is almost perfect.
Question, is it possible to edit the words "Hi There"?
Other than that, great design. Faved and utilized.

Is there any specific way you made the buttons in the top possible through the coding in the Skin CSS?

Ikue In reply to craazhy [2011-10-21 12:52:40 +0000 UTC]
Yup, just using floats and anchor tags. Unless that's not what you mean...

I mean as in: When I use that code in the header within a different journal skin, it only comes out as links. It would seem you coded the availability of the buttons into the skin itself somewhere within the main body of code.

You will need to find the CSS that accompanies that HTML in the CSS section when you edit the journal skin.
