So I actually got around to color this too, the picture for my Contest: [link]Something I noticed about the submissions I received so far is that, while everyone did a good job, most of them looked like... they tried *too* hard; yes, there is such a thing. X) I personally prefer a simple picture that looks nice and neat, rather than something too extravagant, even if it is well made. Just a tip for those who haven't entered yet but are planning to.
I myself tried to keep the coloring simple, so this is the result. Observe and learn, if you must. XD

I don't know what it is about your shading that makes it look so extremely cool. But yeah about trying too hard, I was in detention and I really had nothing better to do, hence the detail. It was good practice anyway, I've been studying a lot of official art because thats the style I've tried to go for.
But anyway good work.

Hmm, I guess you can call that a "tip", but I personally think you're limiting people's freedom by saying that. I mean, you can say that YOUR art style is simple and neat, but others will have their own unique art styles that might not agree with yours.

The coloring overall is smoothly implemented which is a big plus. I like how the shading came out too along with the lineart. The pose and expression fit's Sonic quite well. Well done on this!
