I'm a fan of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so I figured I'd draw some fanart for it.So, whenever I try and draw Daniel and Justine together, one of the two always end up looking a bit off. After a couple of tries, I decided to just take a pseudo-break, and draw some sloppy Daniels with some random ideas.
Afterwards (a couple months later), I put some together to make this.
Explanation of jokes ahead.
See, Daniel isn't the brightest star in the sky.
"Why is it so dark?" is an actual question from the game. And Alexander sidesteps the question upon Daniel asking. This pushed the question-asking Danny idea along.
"Does this look ridiculous?" A flashback between Daniel and archaeologist Herbert pertaining to wielding a parasol in the desert.
"What does this do?" My own Danny-question, in reference to the Storage explosive. Taken from the acid in the prison's kitchen, because apparently Daniel needs to stick his hand into acid to figure out that it's acid. Or fire. Or moving gears. Or a box of syringes.
"Is this your friend?" Did Daniel ever know that the Gatherers roamed the castle? Or were they only around after Daniel turned on Alexander? I dunno, probably the latter. But either way, I thought it'd be a funny little scene.
Oh, Daniel. We love you.
Quickly put together, the lines aren't perfect, but honestly, for something like this, I don't find perfect lines too important. Took some blurred screenshots from Mangaminx's playthrough to accentuate the gradient background, because I can't play the game myself. (Then again, I don't know if I could take it. But after watching people play it (a hobby of mine), I might be able to play it now.) But, so i herd rumors leik Frictional's next project might be console-based. Makes me happy. I might actually get their next game. Doubtful, but hopeful.
I hope to have some Daniel/Justine art someday.

I'm not sure whether he's really that dense, or whether he just doesn't want to see dead people.
Either way, I don't think it's a necessary question for a morgue.

it's stated ingame that daniel knew they were there, but they avoided him and he never saw them.
obviously, the servants are sneaky >:]
..or maybe they weren't that sneaky.. ..remember how alexander would say things like 'it's important that you keep going straight, and be sure not to stray..' and 'come, don't linger.' and the like? he was probably talking about something else, but he probably never facepalmed either.

Nawh, I haven't watched a playthrough in awhile, after so long I forget those smaller details. XD
But yeah, I do remember that. It'd be very easy for the servants to be huddled up in isolated wings of the castle playing games or something while Alexander escorted Daniel to the torture and orb chambers.

Gatherers have been in castle BEFORE Daniel Drunk Amnesia. There was a note from Agrippa telling Alexander that he needs to give orders his "mindless minions".

Ahh, yes, I recall something like that, and the urban legends surrounding Aldstadt about them taking people away at night contributes to it. Thank you for the verification!
I still find a peculiarity on how Daniel never noticed them. But, of course, there are a large number of possible explanations for this, best left to imagination, I suppose. ^^

I think the Gatherers were kept in the lower floors and then Alexander released them when Daniel found out his actual intensions.

That could make more sense.
Though I still find it peculiar how Daniel toured the entire castle with Alexander and having never even (at the very least) heard them before. But I suppose there were plenty of places that were collapsed, locked off, or otherwise blocked, after all. They may have been sealed there - Brennenburg is pretty big, after all.

Yeah, that's one of the few parts of the story that don't make sense to me either, unless there was some sort of illusion. I mean, there is magic, so maybe, before they were against Daniel, they appeared as normal-ish people..?
