One of the best Linux desktops i've seen. How did you remove the icon next to applications. I've tried replacing it with a transparent icon but am still left with a gap to the left of applications on the menu-bar.

Dock is Avant Window Navigator (AWN) with the dark gradient theme [link]
Dock Icons are "Basic5 Textual" [link]
The misic info on the left side of the screen is songbird (my music player) [link]
the program is using an addon called pure player [link]
and pureplayer is using this skin
