I always thought Spider-Man and Firestar were a cute couple in "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends". Great work!

firestar is a former x-man, former member of the new warriors, and really really former of the hellions in the marvel universe. She controls microwave energy. She was created in '81 to join the cartoon Spiderman and his Amazing Friends after the lawyers told them they couldn't use Johnny Storm of the fantastic four (the human torch) because they were considering making a movie based on him (which never happened until 2004).
She's a favorite of mine. Good childhood memories. She recently quit the superhero lifestyle during marvel's huge CIVIL WAR story arc. She was a non-active member of the Avengers at that point, i believe. I'm hoping she'll be returning soon. There are rumors, so we shall see. she is currently being used in marvel's Spiderman love Mary Jane comics, but that's not running the regular timeline as the rest of the marvel world. It's set when Spidey is just starting out and the kids are in high school.

I remember when she freaked out during the Maximum Carnage saga because she didn't want to murder Carnage.
Gosh, you know a lot about Firestar. I
never knew about the microwave thing.
I assumed they were flames.

Just found out last week that she's making a comeback. She'll be in the upcoming (or the one after that) New Warriors comics and she'll be appearing in the next story arc of Ultimate Spiderman i think starting issue 118 (sweeet!!)

Man, whatever happened to Firestar anyway? I miss her.
In a non-creepy way. She's fictional. Right?

lol, well lets see (sadly i'm a firestar freak for some odd reason. Nostolgia i suppose... ah childhood and saturday morning cartoons lol) Firestar went on to be an avenger for a while, she got cancer from her microwave powers and luckily was cured. They made a suit for her which protected her from her powers (few mutants actually have powers that harm them, but sadly she's one of the few). She was dating a guy for a long time, but then i think that went south or he died or something. Recently at the beginning of civil war she decided that all this superhero stuff is for the birds and quit. That's where marvel has her now. As for appearances in non regular marvel universe stuff she's currently appear in the Spiderman loves Maryjane series which is kinda manga-esk in nature and is from the pov of mary jane during high school. I adore that series. Sean Mckeever has done a great job with it. Sadly he just quit to go exclusive with DC. Who knows what will happen with firestar next. Honestly i'd love to think of some cool treatment and send it to marvel now that they've had her quit. It might be interesting to see her come back and be an real player instead of the gal from the 80s cartoon who looks like a cross between MJ and the Pheonix lol.
