Hehehe...sorry if I wasn't too active lately. School's really putting a heavy load on me, And I barely have anytime to do any arting. But I've been wanting submit SOMETHING at least so...Here is something which I got to "finish". No bg cuz I'll never get to finish it if I try it.
So here's another portrait of Arcueid Brunestud from the Shingetsutan Tsukihime anime. Why you ask? Cuz I wasn't satisfied with the last one. Didn't turn out quite as pretty-pretty as I had hoped but I kinda liked the result. Why do I only do headshots you ask? Cuz I love doing portraits. I just do.

I think on the one hand, the pic is definitely incredibly well done, and fully captures Arcueid. There is, IMO, something off about the picture, though, which took me some time to figure out, before I decided to comment. I think it's that she looks too serious. To be frank, I think this is probably a consequence of the realistic drawing. There are certain expressions and feelings which aren't easily conveyed outside of an anime form (ie, stuff like eyes always shut looks weird and squinty in real life, but is alternatively cute/devious in anime). So for Arcueid, the photographic-quality portrayal makes her seem too serious, which for her character, isn't quite right.
But I definitely like the picture.

Incidentally, I just googled arcueid in google images search, and your pic is the first to pop up for me. Not sure if it's a vagary of google's personalization, but that might be it.

Just finished watching Tsukihime, and I must say, Arcueid-sama's become quite a character to add in my list of favourites! A wonderful tribute to an intriguing beauty too!

I'm not a tsukihime fan by any means, never really liked the stories of type-moon, but this character is the only one that I like.

I love the fact that the pupils are like a cat's, not round. But I haven't seen the anime, so maybe it was like that originally?

Shade on her right(Left for the character) eye too dark and sharp, the ear is a little big and there is a sketch fragments on a background, like in a bottom on the right.

She doesn't have anything flashy on her but she really does shine, her blonde flowing hair and red abnormal eyes
