Kubuntiac has created an auto-compiling script, but it seems have some little problem:

So you've to compile the source in order to obtain the last 2.4 "unstable" version.
Otherwise you could install the last stable version, 2.3.1 at the moment, adding the Kubuntu backports:

But if you've Ubuntu or Mint pay attention to dependencies, you could break your system...
