I'm relatively new to drawing and don't know if I'm exactly qualified to give critiques, but here goes anyway...
I think this piece could be greatly improved with a bit of a better understanding of octopus anatomy. Here, the tentacles seem extremely thin compared to the large head. Looking at some references, it seems like most octopi have a large bulbous head like this one, but the area below the eyes will narrow down noticeably before the tentacles. Also, many octopi have a webbing in between their tentacles, which could help the tentacles in this picture look a bit more proportional. I'm not sure if all of them have that though, so it's not necessary. The last thing I notice (with my limited art knowledge) is that the picture seems a bit "heavier" to one side. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but basically the head is so much larger than the rest of things in the picture that it draws my eye a bit too much to one side. The head by itself would probably be okay, but also adding a tentacle above the head really draws the viewers eye to the right, making everything a bit off balance. On the plus side, I really like how the eyes look. the sketchy black lines compared to more smooth/blurry lines of the rest of the piece make it really stand out.
Anyway, I really hope that was helpful. If you disagree with any of my points I'd love to hear why. Like I mentioned before, I'm still learning and I'm self-taught, so I like to hear different perspectives, ideas, etc. on art

Thanks for the comment! I plan on redoing this piece since I didn't spend very much time on it so you're critique is super helpful! Thank you!
