FINALLY, something to break the Nilla-art-drought!
This is one of the... say, ten things that I'm currently working on. It just so happened to be the first one that was finished. ;3
First of all, there was quite a bit of digital editing that went into this, so I'm not sure if this would STILL qualify as mixed media. Again, it's a combination of traditional and digital media.
This began as a boredom watercolor painting in art- at school, of course. And then, since Indie's colors seemed to go well with it, I drew him on there with sharpies and a pen. [the actual picture is only about a 6 inch by 6 inch square, and Indie himself is only about 3 inches tall, but scanners have a way of making things way bigger than they are in real life...]
Then, I scanned it, brought it into Photoshop Elements and added the marroon parts and stitches, added more shading and some markings to Indie, fixed the glare on the pen from the scanner, etc. And added notes and words.
...Because he looks like a happy kitty listening to music.

Anyway. I'm pretty happy with this, actually. It is a bit similar to my other picture of Indie, but well. IT'S INDIE, AND HE GOES WELL WITH PRETTY SPLATTERY BACKGROUNDS. xD

Im surprised yo uscanned it = ) Either you have a good scanner or youre just good at editing stuff. It doesnt look scanned or edited at all.
But I must say I love how the shading turned out on him. I was abotu to ask you what brush you used before I read that it was scanned xD

My scanner IS decent, but on everything I scan I have to bring it into photoshop since it's always too bright.
But I did some MAJOR editing. Like changed his expression completely- his eyes were open in the original picture. xD

Goodness this is amazing! I love how you you make your pictures have both traditional and digital art feel to them. In this picture I love how you added the sort of shine to that turft of hair on Indie's head. I also love the shading. Indie seems so jolly and happeh. ^^
