When Sunstone was still in Homeworld, she actually worked side by side with a Jasper in training freshly popped gems babies :0
But she was more of an? assistant, and kept track of the information and progress made, and also served as a messenger for the Jasper
She can't make those little screens on her own, so I wouldn't call it an ability - they're just from her visor (this idea was taken from Zircon's own screen thingies)
Also she is very serious, very stoic and a hoe
She doesn't like Quartz soldiers, she finds them to be annoying, loud and dumb

Your gemsona kinda reminds me of my own. My gemsona, Diopside, worked in kindergartens introducing the new gems to their world and their diamond as well as the way things work in the diamond hierarchy. She also kept track of them, noting which of them seem to be the most capable, which of them struggle, etc. A side job of hers was to boost morality in the kindergartens by going around and communicating with her fellow gems. The original purpose of this was to have her keep gems on track, but it seems that having her just have general conversation with the gems there while she's at work boosts productivity. Since she's the main one keeping tabs on everyone in the kindergarten, she usually gets away with doing what she wants as long as she gets a detailed summary in of each gem there(or a few if she's working with other Diopsides), and no one ever notices if she isn't doing her job to the fullest since they usually enjoy her company very much. Of course, this is when she was on Homeworld. Now things are much different. xD

xD I think that's totally fine! I really like her. She doesn't train them, but she keeps track of their abilities. It's definitely more specific than the role I had for my character(which just had various jobs throughout the kindergarten)!

I tend to overthink things too tbh--- like prior to this, i actually had plans on making her an aristocrat gem bc i wanted to make a pearl :0 !! hence the adoptable from last night
but upon looking things up, i wanted to be more realistic and stick to the show more i guess-- ??? which is impossible bc it'll be broken soon but - you know- making a diamond sort of thing
i also did a lot of research in terms of her mohs scale/durability??, meanings, and what it is linked with in terms of zodiacs and elements and a bunch of other things tbh hhh
i dont like to blindly do things tbh im lame

I heckin' feel that on a deep level
My gemsona also changed greatly from start to finish. o.o' My gemsona is meant to be a reflection of myself, and originally I thought that there were two greater sides of me, so I thought that a gemsona of me would only make sense as a fusion. One of the gems was going to be a more self-absorbed, loud, and obsessive(also possessive) type while the other gem was going to be a calm, patient, and charming gem(her role was going to be what my gemsona's is now). Their "flaw" was going to be that they had two different mouths because although they both handled things in the same way and moved in the same way, they both had different thoughts- a different voice on what was what and why was anything. The first gem was going to be a coordinator of sorts(which is kinda a part of what Diopside's role is) and the second a nurturer.
After a while of not touching my gemsona I came back with renewed fervor of making an accurate gemsona to myself, and realized that I'm not a fusion- I'm me. I may have many different parts of myself, but those parts fit into one whole like they were created that way. I dug deep into gem meanings, considered what colors I would want, looked into properties of the gems(these properties mainly influenced appearances), and I also dug into the show for interesting potential body types I could use. I greatly considered the lore of Steven Universe while making my gemsona.

TBH SUNSTONE IS MY THIRD????? my first was a moonstone and then i made a smithsonite during an art block, but i dont use them and they arent accurate enough to be gems so i just sold them off
