Description
A commission for my dear *Wario-Girl . Though I’m sure this is probably not what she had in mind XD But she wanted me to do something inspired by her little fanfic “Red Love Letters” which you should absolutely read!! Unfortunately, when I drew the commission a story popped into my head and I wanted to write it to go with the picture.

The tall man paced the floor, his hands clasped behind his back. "Yes..." he thought, "...this is more of a problem than I first thought." He stopped walking long enough to pause and eye the letter that was placed delicately on the edge of the dining room table.

He pulled the chair out and sat back down. His morning had been interrupted yet again by the swish of the mail flap signaling the arrival of another letter. The crimson envelope looked dull in the dim apartment light and he picked up the letter in his hands.

The parchment was rough and cream coloured with delicate writing on the front. He ran a finger over the words, tracing the flowing lines. A raspy sigh escaped his lips as the letter dropped back to the table. He picked up the mug and took a sip of coffee, which did nothing to get the unpleasant taste out of his mouth.

The man was stuck, no answers coming to his mind. The previous days had brought back something he thought would never return to him, but what would he do to secure that the feeling would last? It seemed as though the small ray of hope was being swallowed up by his depression once again.

As his hands pressed against the table and he stood up, the last lines of the letter called out to him once more. Here was a stranger who was telling him to be happy and enjoy life. To do what HE wanted for a change. He gently lifted the letter and read the lines silently in his mind over and over again and a smile flickered across his face.

"Vermillion... whoever you are, I promise I'll meet you. One day... but until then, the compassion you've shown through your words gives me strength. For now... that is enough."

He hugged the letter to his chest as the warm hot tears fell like a stream over his cheeks and walked to the door to get his coat and hat. It was time for him to go out... to live life as he wanted for once. And to meet this girl who stirred up such emotions inside him. He promised himself he'd meet her.

And that was a promise Waluigi was determined to keep...
