"You look really good, by the way. I was hoping you'd show up. I'm, uh, glad you're here, to be totally honest," he remarked, his tone approaching that of a question, as though he didn't quite know if he was being appropriate with something so personal.

Her eyes flitted to the floor and back to him, an awkward smile peeping on her face. It had crossed her mind whether anyone would say anything about her change in appearance or not, given how she usually presented herself, but this wasn't what she had imagined. She felt her cheeks and ears flush, and hoped it was only a little, but the tell-tale warmth was there. It was most likely obvious. She attempted a response.

"Oh uh, really? I'm not really trying to- I mean, I'm also-," she cleared her throat, using that snippet of time to mentally kick herself. She subconsciously brought her hands in front of her, and lightly toyed with her fingernails. Anju had always accused her of fidgeting when nervous. She tried again.

"Thanks... I'm glad as well... and I thought I should make the effort given the nature of tonight's events. If we're going to boost morale, we may as well set a good example, right?"

"Right," he agreed, his trademark grin surfacing, "I'll try to do the same. I should uh, probably go now - but we can catch up later, yeah? Tell me what you think of the show."

"Sure. Good luck and have fun!"

"Thanks!" he waved as he left. She returned the gesture, then headed towards the rest of the crowd, the sound of the band tuning their instruments echoing through the hall. She had never felt so stupid.

^ Stupid snippet of a scene in my story thingy. Nothing like having a gig to make everyone feel better when stuff seems hopeless, right? Music's a pretty powerful thing.

This is a commission I purchased from , since my 25th birthday is approaching and I wanted to treat myself a little. He drew the lineart, and gave me permission to colour it as I wished. Working with this artist was simply amazing, he was so professional and friendly, I would recommend him to everyone. And I hope to purchase from him again in the future. Thank you so much!
