The woman's expression in this is really fantastic and immediately drew my eyes. The whole image looks strangely peaceful to me, which makes it all the more disturbing given what's happening. I think it's the hands that give it a false sense of peace since most of the men appear to be touching her lightly, not struggling to hold her down.

though i dislike so-called concept art (nine times out of ten), i think this picture has what i miss in most so-called concept art: a distinct formal quality. in this instance the composition and lighting of a classical painting (though it could probably be better still in symmetry and cropping).

Thank you for the honest response. You're right about symmetry and whatnot. I almost did not post the picture at all because of those exact issues. I wish I could have gotten it a tad bit better, but you see the people in the shot were just friends of mine (well, and Luke who is eleven). And the water was extremely cold. I only got a couple pictures before they said that they had had enough and marched out of the lake.Β
