I struggled a bit with the colour of the shadows, as it was a black and white photo, Buddeg said I had got the colour of the horse as she remembered it , must have been nice for a farmer to work with horses rather than a tractor, makes one wonder about progress  and profit.
Thankyou for your kind words

Progress and profit surely have a negative influence as well... Bees are endangered mostly because of this thing too.

The end result is wonderful ! I bet she was happy to see it !

Incredible scene, the background is so immersive, rustic landscape. I particularly like the horse. Her father looks so real, the realism in a lot of your artworks is like seeing a photograph! Thanks for including the backstory on this, it is quite poignant. I imagine maintaining a farm is a lot of work - and 100 sheep, wow!    Nice work mate!

Many thanks buddy, I asked what colour the horse was, she remembered it well. the neighbouring farmers help with getting the livestock to market, Buddeg still gets a little upset letting them go, after all these years .A nephew helps her at weekends , he is an architect but is inline to inherit the smallholding someday.
She can't get up the mountains now  , but told me she sometimes sits and remembers the paths by heart and walks them in her mind with a dog of course.

Yes She likes to reminisce , and I enjoy her stories, one should not lose the art of listening , even a well trodden path can still reveal small details one has missed before.
There's a lot to be said for past times, folks were certainly less wasteful and probably more respectful despite their lack of worldly knowledge.

Very well said. Listening is oft overlooked today and I think that communications would flow better if more folks stopped to listen. There's a lot to learn from other's experiences and the past. For sure , good manners and respect were hallmarks of those that came before and they need to make a comeback.

Haha! wise un-dubious words mate
Cool! glad you remembered , Its quite  a hard read, bit like Shakespeare or even Jane Austin,  one wonders if they actually spoke in such a manner, maybe they had more time and inclination to refine their language.

Maybe an old mill pond. No miller though
Yes I like the idea of creating images of the past, a weaver working a loom could be an  interesting  topic.
Being well versed certainly reflected one social position in past times. being careful what one said also

You would not think so if you take  Donald Trump and Boris Johnson as examples
Being a moron and a straight faced liar seems to get one too the top .
