Cool, a dojinshi. I'm NO WHERE near you skill level, but someday in my life, I'd like to make some too
Now I wanna learn german too.. gee thanks, XD.

XD
thank you ^^
it doesn't matter how good you draw to make a doujinshi, because working on such a project is the best practice you can get!

*bows* You're right!!!!
... Now I need to get the materials to do so.. only reason why I haven't bothered even trying to make something half ass
On a side note, it'd be funny if I make my first dojinshi into a yaoi: I preach that Yuri Yuri and Yuri is all I'll do.. but lately, for some odd reason Yaoi calls to me XD

what materials are you going to use? ^^
*g* what about a mixed story containing yaoi and yuri?

Mixed story... that's not a bad idea at all, however, my "visions of Yuri" is truly locked as far as characters are concerned (it may be a COMPLETELY all female cast too...)
However, who said I can only make one? I can do oh so much more <3
Materials... idk, XD!!! I definitely wanna at least give it a shot to go with traditional stuff, you know, manuscript paper, screentones, quill pens, and the like.
All I can afford/find around here are pretty much pencils XD... idk where to buy anything good.
Also I've tried countless pens, ball point, pitt, and even quill pens.. I can't use any of them without breaking them and/or messing up the picture in question... So for now I think skill, above all, is what I'm lacking. But then "skill" is a matter of perception, and moreover, each artist has their prefered media, for not every MUST be proficient with a certain tool
So, I guess, it's more a matter of getting off my lazy ass and researching more exactly what I need and where to get it... and... the money T_T
Well, sorry for the rant, but I will ask: What would YOU suggest? What would YOU use in making a manga?

it's quite the same with me: i'm too poor to buy screentone or high quality ball pens and stuff. hell, i live in a very small appartment without any luxury O.o
but back to your question:
i use ordinary pencils and ordinary paper you use for the printer. after drawing the pages, i outline them with cheap fineliners/ballpens (there are cheap good ones, you just have to try them out in a shop) . then i remove the pencil-ines with an eraser and scan the pages into photoshop. there is a little tool (the icon looks like a stamp with a pattern next to it) where you can paint like with a normal paintbrush, but the "color" is a pattern there. the pattern can look like a screentone, there are even pages on the internet where you can download them.
that sounds a bit complicated, but it's quite easy, removable, cheap and you don't have any garbage .

it sorta does... well I'd need to know where in teh intarweb I can DL these programs (my photoshop is quite outdated)
And in the end, I guess it's just a matter of trying it out and expiramenting.
So basically, with the exception of pens, I got pretty much everything you got, lawl
Is there a particular pen type/brand/whatever you recomend me looking out for? I've always had bad luck with ballpoint, but maybe knowing a particular type may help me
Oh yea and also, when I royally screwed up on a pic that I wanna keep badly, I use my proxy (PROXY OK) lightbox to try to reproduce the pic... it actually often works.
For now, using that proxy, I will practice inking.. that way I wont mess up a really good pic with lack of practice.
Once I get good and confident, I may begin inking without the proxy box- can't rely on it forever, you know?
I have noticed I love China Ink, it dries hella quickly and will not smudge... now if only I can find a pen with said ink that wont break easily...

i'm afraid, i don't have the link for the website anymore ;_;
the pens i use don't have a special brand... i've only seen them in a drug store here, i don't know if they are sold worldwide.
