So the new monster's name was revealed for MH4U. People were calling him Goguma - such a cool name! Except goguma in Korean means sweet potato.. now I'll always see him as such!ΒΒ

The Gogmazios is the physical embodiment of fear. It is, by far, the scariest monster I have ever seen, not just in Monster Hunter.
First off, it's gigantic and powerful. Those biceps aren't for show, I can assure you. It also has a massive laser attack which WILL kill you if you're not ready. Second off, those wings on its back may look flimsy, but it can actually fly. Combine this with its unnatural speed and you have a recipe for disaster. Thirdy, it's a tar monster. It secretes goo from its body that acts as tar and works a bit like web, mud and snow. Flying around and dropping this stuff must be a nightmare, both figuratively and literally! Lastly, its design. From the glowing red chest vent, to the thousands of spikes on its back, all the way to its devil-like wings, this thing will haunt your dreams even if you don't know how powerful it could be.
I had never been so terrified of a monster in my entire life.

My theory on this guy is he's the last "living" member of an Elder Dragon species that has all but died out due to Goas virus and he either is on a mindless, fear-of-extinctionΒ driven rampage or decided to go out with a bang.
But that's just a personal thought.

I bow hunt. This particular venison came from a deer I shot in North Dakota with a rifle (time and geography dictated that), but locally I stick strictly to archery for anything that isn't dove or quail.
