Description This is a new character that has been on my mind for a while now, this is Tysha.
Tysha is a dragon that hails from the southern lands of the Far East in Eternal Saga. The southern regions of this area is a mixture of the Egyptian and Mayan cultures, so because of that influence, her design is meant to reflect both cultures; the feathered dragons (her body is covered in short feathers) from the Mayan and the 'crocodile features' (such as the muzzle) from the Egyptians.

Tysha grew up with her clan in one of the larger port cities on the coast; the port was closed off to the outside world, accepting only local ships so she never knew what was beyond the costal borders. Regrettably however, she discovered one of the darker parts of the outside world when she and her clan were captured and enslaved by 'The Deceiver' and his army.

She spent many years within the slave chambers, enduring the grueling work and torture as best she could, all the while plotting with others to try and plan an escape.
When the time came, she and several members of her clan finally made their escape, but as they got closer to the exit, they were caught. She was separated from the others, but she still tried to push on, finally finding her way to the outside.
It was here that she received a surprise, discovering a group nearby, so she ran to them for help. Seeing her and the pursuing demons, they quickly went to her aid, successfully rescuing her. It would be later that she discovered that the group came from the kingdom of Zenethia and were lead by the dragon king himself, Bahamut.

Bahamut insisted that she stayed in the city while she recovered, but on the agreement that he would help her find the rest of her clan and rescue them from the demon Zeleme.

This picture ended up being used for several different 'experiments':
I didn't want the usual black outlining, so I tried doing the colored linework like *Yark-Wark uses, but I didn't get it to work, so I just inked the lines in digitally with darker colored lines. I decided to play around with it some, giving it some subtle shading and working on some different techniques for adding in details, like the scales on her muzzle and feet and some of the textures in her clothing and feathers.

Overall, I am very happy with the final look, this is probably one of the few times where I'm completely happy with the final look. There are some mistakes in anatomy and the shading isn't anything grand, but I like it.

Photoshop CS4.

Egyptian Symbols brush from ObsidianDawn.

No problem! It was my utmost pleasure. -Smiles and throws mane back, adjusting crown and whipping tail around my back feet, with my forepaws folded gracefully-

The colored lineart looks pretty good, I just dunno if it works with shaded work or not. Look at Yark's work she uses the colored lines for unshaded work, so I dunno which works better.
Still, I'm happy with it. ^^

Thank you very much!

shaded for coloured or uncoloured i think would be effective... just... to varying degrees. X3

It's really detailed and I like the colored linework. The colors you used are very vibrant, I think they really bring out her character.
