Description
In the future children shall be educated by robot mentors whilst their parents are busy working in the sprawling cities.I wanted to try something a little different from my usual darker type of work. So this one has more a childrens book illustration feel as I felt it would suit the subject matter.
I also wanted to experiment with my painting by limiting myself to one brush -oil heavy flow dry edges with pressure sensitivity on and for the most part, shape dynamics off.
Finally I added a hand made watercolour wash as an overlay layer at 73% to give some texture.
Sofware- Photoshop 7.

Beautiful, just beautiful.
I love the style here: The forest contrasting with the city, the robot's sheer out-of-place-ness and awesome design (I love how the underbody is made of those tubes, verrah cool), The girl's expression, and the lighting.

Strangely, I find I like the robot more than the kid.
(It's the strange look she gives the flower, I think.
I like flowers and have a hard time understanding
how one could not like them
The colors are great, even if it still makes
me feel a bit sad.
Robots are, after all, portrayed as cold
emotionless machines in most Science Fiction
and don't really seem to be the ideal babysitter.
I like robots that are more like humans.
Emotional, that is.

I'm a profound lover of robots. Especially the kind that interact with humans, so its love for that reason, that and well, for the sheer fact that this has so much detail, the colours are fantastic adn rich, and well its just amazing that you could pull something off like this in PS. it looks truely like its been done on canvas. You my friend.. are a GOD!
