Description
I need to animate Flametail's death in my part for the Five Giants Warriors MAP and with no set designs I had to make my own. The concept drawing good enough to be a picture in it's own right so I threw a gradient on it.This was my first time properly designing a character with silhouette, colour scheme, and animatability in mind. It was a lot of fumbling around at first but once I got a good idea it worked out much easier and turned out pretty great in the end.

I like style. Just curious, but is it supposed to be similar to the style of The Lion King?

thank you! not intentionally no. I love animated features so a lot of inspiration from especially Dreamworks and Disney ended up in there but when developing it I started out from a more realistic standpoint and tried to simplify it down to a more animatable design.
it does look very lion king though I can't deny that but if I wanted to make it more similar to that I would change some way of drawing things, the fur especially

I hope one day, I'm going to start teaching myself this summer when I have some spare time. I'm not wanting to do it for a living or anything but I'd like to get good enough to join some maps maybe. Yes it's never too late, certainly I'm not going to get anywhere if I don't try
