Just watched Third Star on BBC iPlayer. So sad. I'd never seen it before.Either way, James' last words were just so poignant that this image appeared in my mind and I had to put it down as a drawing. And I tried to keep it as close to the film as possible. With the trilby. And the third star right at the very bottom.

This is actually spookily relevant to a conversation I had with a friend today about films that have made us cry. Though I love this film so much, I have actually told her NOT to watch it (purely because she would become even more of an emotional wreck than I was when I saw it).
I needed a whole box of Kleenex to live through to the end of it. (And I think I might need another one now...)

This is gorgeous, but you will never, ever, and I mean never get me to watch this. I don't think my heart could take it. Still though. Very stylish.

Fair enough. But bear in mind that you will be missing out on some of the most phenomenal acting you will ever see and the mind-bogglingly heart-rending but still kinda sweet sight of all 6'1" of Benedict Cumberbatch being given a piggyback and carried in his friend's arms like a baby . . .

Oh god. The end of that film made me cry my eyes out and this artwork, with those words, just made me start to enter "no, it's just raining on my face" mode again. Now I must go and watch the film again, because apparently I am an emotional masochist.

I've seen it some months ago. And You know at first I was just sad, but then thought what I would do in that situation? The same. And the best thing, that James's family and Sister remembered him in good mood and with a smile on his face instead of the pain, misery and suffers.
