A really old work which I did nearly a year ago.Recently I got the chance to sample the game on the Xbox 360 and I really still amaze on how superb the visual of the game be it technical or the art direction. o:
So I dug up my old work and continue to refine it.
Done in Painter and Photoshop.

Marcus truly is...the MOST BADASS SARGE in history! But his bandanna I can compare to Double D Edd, what's he hiding underneath it? I mean, he's never seen without it, what I've seen anyway. At any rate Hail to Marcus and his voiceover John DiMaggio! LONG LIVE JOHN AND MARCUS!

I think that this piece has demonstrated a truly wonderfully array of your talents in terms of digital colouring and life drawing. Your approach and development of Marcus in this drawing here is drawn very well and what's more you have shown how you can incorporate a character with pin point perfection. I feel if you place two and two together it would be a complete mirror image and very little if not no differences between them both. It's amazing to see you design the character to a near perfect shine and keeping the characteristics as well.
For me though, the real shine comes in the colour and approach of the brush work. The effects you've applied to the selected brush and large variety of colours decided have given this piece a gritty yet very striking appeal. The use of brown, blue and greys connect well to the style of the game and the heavy brush strokes reflect to the theme of the genre of Gear of War.
Overall, I think you have shown a tremendous level of talent so keep it up.
