It is a common sight across all the realms, to a point that it became trivial - to see a wandering robot, lost and seemingly disconnected from the world around it. To witness seemingly destroyed or inert piece of automata suddenly jerk with life, animated once again, rising from the layers of grit and dust to walk again in newfound purpose, often completely unknown to its ancient, rusty circuits. The world is littered with untold millions of these machines, of all shaped, size and purpose. And since the Dreadwake tore open the world, they began to rise again with new life, new vitality known by the most illustrious luminaries as the Motive Force. Some of the newly reborn know their new goals instantly, like if reprogrammed - often moving towards the Brass City without even knowing that it is their final destination. Others yet reset to their initial function, now trying to repeat their circular logic routes in a world utterly different to the one they left. Others yet wake as blank slate, cleaned of restraints of their long gone masters, free to find new purpose to chase, often filled with brand new sensations of wonder and joy as, for the first time since their construction, they are truly unbound to enjoy the world with their precise, digital senses. These automata who wander the world far and wide in state of seemingly endless jubilation are often called the Emergents by the more scholarly types... or simply as Mudbuckets by those of less educated inclinations.
