Now - and I know you're gonna look for some excuse for this (No buts! XD) - that epic shading would look just as epic in a background. Your shading techniques are amazing, but they're starting to mismatch the plain white background just a bit. I mean, you're probably worried about there being overpowering of the subject or the fact that backgrounds don't treat you good, but neither one of those has to be true.

Hngh... I see your point. Remember what I was saying about how I live by the art in some of the D&D rulebooks? A lot of them are just character painting or sketches with no background, and like I said- I tend to imitate my favourite art and artists without meaning to.
That's not me looking for an excuse, that's me telling you the why. XD
I've been trying to practice BGs, but I'm trying to get them up to where they mach the character in skill and quality and all that before I start putting them on my 'real' pictures.
