I really love the choice of background colour for this piece.

Thank you! I worry some of the pinks are going to be rough to get printing right...but then, my perspective is also skewed, since I'm stuck proofing on a really trashy 3-in-1. That said, I'm super happy with the colours. Just need to get back to this to finish with shading soon.

Pink is such a tricky colour to work with. Especially building around with it.
As for printing, only one way to find out.. probably involves a lot of proof printing.
I will never forget that I made a wedding inventation for my friend. Just the image that she wanted, but she was a bit carried away with the whole wedding thing (in retrospect I defenitly believe she fell into the "bridezilla" category). She let me draw it over, and over and over until she was satisfied.
Finally produced a Disney style portrait of her and her husband with colours she loved, brought it straight to a printing company: both were printed off in salmon colours on 100 cards.
I had to hold in my laugh when I received the card, because I know how annoyed she was.

Pffft! Proofs are always so important! And not even easy to do all the time. My own printer is notoriously bad for blues and greens; I literally can't trust it and have been asking suppliers I've been considering whether I can get photo proofs before stuff goes out. It's just so bad.
Anyway, that sounds like...quite the experience, hoo boy. Glad I haven't had to deal with anyone quite that fussy. Except for myself, of course hahah. Sounds like she forgot to run proofs or communicate with the printer, too.

I know right?! But that is what you get for being unable to give things out of hand before checking the quality.
She was quite the experience, so was the wedding and the whole marriage (which did not last very long). So in the grand scheme of things there were bigger problems than the card.

It should be soon! I've got shading on Birdo finished, so just need to finish with the rest of the items, do drop shadows and final tweaks. It's been a way less bulky project than the squeek hoard, which has been a relief.

Based on the documentation I've seen, Birdo identifies as female! Though NoJ has been uh...less than great about actually discussing it, and NoA tends to avoid discussing it at all.
Anyway, the next thing I'm working on is actually going to be shading. As much as I love the flats, I really want this to pop! Probably going to paint some drop shadows in once the layout is finalized as well, as that really served the last bag I designed really well.
