Description
Medium: (Digital) PaintTool SAII found this sitting around on my desktop. There were a few versions of it colored differently, but I think I like this one the best.Β
(I think it was intended to be an entry for the doodle4google competition, but I only ended up half-starting it and then gave up.)
It's not really styled like my usual drawings because I was trying for a more unique feel, but I didn't get anywhere with it anyway.Β
Still kinda cute. Right?

I mean, you know... delicate colors ^^" give me a sensation of quiet ^____^ and indeed there's something different about her expression, you should keep exploring styles, you might find something you like :3 maybe it's because her eyes are closed though xD I might be too used to see the wonderful eyes you draw wide open :3

OMG they ARE. Open eyes are easier much of the time because you can just let the eye outline flow with the shape and position of the eyeball, but with closed eyes you have to arrange the eyelashes and make sure they're in the right part of the head and all that stuff. XD AND you have to position the nose around them, which is more difficult if the eyes are closed. For me, anyway. IDK maybe I'm weird. ^^

Though my "style" was always very simple (<--- nice way to say "not able to...") so I won't go that deep with particulars, or I'll be demoralized xD
The way you describe your work give a measure how tough can be drawing Β°_Β° maybe it's you, or maybe not xD I still believe you draw the most amazing eyes I ever saw

Just a personal opinion here but I would LOVE to see you draw again!!!
Your reference/concept drawings are always really really interesting, I think you have an eye for design. ;D

ahaha, oh my, thanks for the encouragement! ^^ but aside from the "lack of time" factor, I think I really don't have any good basic skill ^^" I mean, I don't even know wich are good methods to draw xD I only know pencil and paper xD I can't go past the terrific sketchy doodles xD hell, even colouring... I wasn't even able to be decent with coloured pencils and markers xD so in one word: RANDOM. That's what my drawings would be xD
But you know what... for some reason you affect my way of thinking xD so I decided to give it a shot! Γ²_Γ²
Erhm... do you have any... hint for me, such as where to start from? xD (cause yes, I think I should start from the veeeeery beginning ^^") if it's a bother for you don't answer :3 (though you were the one encouraging me so DEAL WITH IT xD)

AGH NONSENSE!! You're wonderful, I'll bet your drawings will become just as good as your writing if you want them to.
And basic skill is really a strange term, because I think everyone is different and everyone starts from different places, with different skills and styles...
If I had to give you any advice for drawing though, it would be to NEVER EVER STOP.
I think the only reason I've improved as I have (which isn't a whole ton but eh) is because I've been drawing for years and I just do it for fun, so I never have to force myself to practice... but it's true what people tell you, the only way to get good is to keep at it. XD As annoying as that is.
Also, I find that just looking at references helps a lot. I have a folder on my desktop that's literally just full of anatomy references and coloring tutorials and random art I look at for inspiration and stuff. REFERENCES ARE EVERYTHING!!! And on top of practicing a LOT, you always improve faster if you try doing new things. For example, I always tried to avoid drawing hands by positioning characters with their hands behind their backs. XD Don't do that! Always better to draw ugly hands than no hands at all, because it means that you'll eventually draw beautiful hands.
Also, when I'm just out in public areas or whatever, I try to make a point of observing things and committing how things work to memory. I tend to have trouble drawing things like cloth and clouds and fire, so if I look at them for long periods of time (even take pictures for reference) it helps a lot.
OOH and another thing, especially if you're drawing anime, it's best to try to get the natural, irl human form down and understand how it works before you try drawing anime styled things. Your art will turn out more distinctly YOURS and it won't look like you're just copying someone else's work. That said, copying other artists is a good way to lear to draw too. If you take screenshots from anime or something and then try to draw them, you gain muscle memory and experience from practice. It's a great way to go...
I really didn't expect to write that much.
But I hoped I helped!! Oh yeah, and if you ever need to find good references for anatomy or anything else really, I can probably help you. My computer is an unorganized mess but I have like a million art references in there.

Yeah, I totally agree on the "keep practicing" side. I noticed I couldn't even draw like I used to some years ago, cause I don't pick up a pencil ever since xD I'll try to dedicate sometime everyday, even if it's just 10 minutes!
And thank you. Thank you a WHOLE lot, your advices are golden, I am sure I'll find them very useful, I'll do as you said! :3 and ask you for reference if I manage to go on constantly! ^^
... wich might be a problem, cause I had an interesting call: there's a little chance I can begin playing guitar on stage again with a band, after 4 years of forced stop! Γ²_Γ² I can't believe this, if that really happen I might think life is turning on my good side again! T_T anyway, thank you, I owe you more than you know... for a lot of things!
