Description There are many things in this world that we humans do not understand. Not simply because we can't...or rather...we would rather not. It is human instinct to fear the unknown. To repel the slightest ounce of truth, because we fear that by learning something new...it will change the patterns in our daily lives that we become so dependent upon. The security of repetition and predictability. Order, peace and stability are what we strive for. But what happens when "something"...or..."someone" comes along and severs the threads woven upon Fate's loom? When some force outside of Fate's control suddenly intervenes with the pattern of human existence? What little remains of it anyway.

We live in world ruled by fear. Fear of dying in captivity. Fear of being eaten alive by a race of giants that to all human knowledge, have consumed the Earth and most of it's human inhabitants. Only a handful of us struggle to survive within The Walls of one last remaining city. Many centuries ago, we once ruled the world. Humans were at the top of the natural food chain, by excising the intelligence and rationality that Maria had blessed us with. But then...something changed. A world we once dominated was taken from us. The "Titans" came along with their starving smiles and ate any human life they encountered. Over the centuries they have driven us to near extinction. Human history reset itself and a new age began for us all. An age of darkness filled with strange things we can barely comprehend with the most basic of technology that the old world left behind for us. It's hard to imagine a world without the Titans...but how will we ever know unless we keep taking the chances of standing up for ourselves in the face of death. However, there is one enemy that mankind cannot defend itself from. Mankind is it's own greatest enemy. And some of the things that lurk in the darkest corners of the human mind are vastly more cryptic and frightening than anything the Titan's could do to us. Human rationality gave birth to fear and in this most perilous mysterious world. Who's to say that there isn't something more to us than just meat and bones? Something lies deep inside each and every one of us. Some call it a "soul". The very essence of Human Will itself. I question, what becomes of that "Will" once the physical form is gone? Some people believe that "Will" goes moves on to some place new...others believe they stick around because they don't realise that they are dead. A great many a time have rumors gone round about the supposed "dead" being seen wondering around the city streets. A great many of which are said to be soldiers. Soldiers who are reported to be seen marching through the streets, or even standing guard keeping silent vigil over the city. Β To some locals this might seem comforting...to others it is looked upon as a bad omen to communicate or come into contact with these...apparitions. The Military Police records are riddled with reports relating to such phenomenon. Of course, none of which have ever been proven and are usually swept under the rug of "Local Disturbance". There is one particular rumor that has been going round for a while now. A collection of "disturbances" over the last year have manifested into a notable case. They usually occur around the dormitories of the Trainee Recruits and the training area. Some have even gone as far to say they have seen things right here at Military Police HQ. Some have claimed to have seen strange shadows moving about in one of the dorm rooms and believe that it is the ghost of a young soldier who met an untimely end during the resistance against the Titan invasion at Trost just over a year ago. A soldier named Marco Bott. This spectre has become something of an urban myth around here. Some believe he haunts Military Police HQ because it was his dream to be on the force. Others say he's seeking revenge for his death. No one really knows...except perhaps one. The best friend he left behind, Jean Kirschtein. Your former classmate.
