Welp bois, 2022 is coming to a close and man it's definetly been a year. Sadly it has been pretty rough for me cuz of shit that's going on in the world and in my country, and also the US cuz let's be honest I'm in a colony and everything that happens there ends up here, and the fact that I go to an infamously demanding uni and field, which pretty much did a number to my mental health but welp gotta keep hanging in there! Hopefully things shall improve next year, if not oh welp that's just a part of life lol.

Anyways time for some retrospective for this year to mentally take some notes for myself:

So first of all, unlike last year, I actually managed to draw at least 1 thing each month! Sadly I still haven't drawn much this year since I pretty much had no spare time to do so. So needless to say, it was a bit of a struggle putting this summary together since it's not like I had much art to work with. I still honestly don't see significant improvement which is unsurprising cuz of what I just mentioned I wasn't able to do much art studies except in a few ocassions, in which I mostly I'm trying to focus on improving facial expressions, dynamic posing and gesture drawings. I also have drawn some background sketches to study of medieval architecture, especially mediterranean architecture, to see if I can finally get better at backgrounds. Tho since I mentioned gestures, I gotta stop trying to get the anatomy perfect anatomy in those studies since let's just say I spend too much time trying to do so instead of just focusing on the movement and gesture itself, whoops lol. Also I've been trying to tweak my artstyle a bit for a while buut it's not really showing up yet since my hand doesn't wanna change art styles yet, which is to be expected.

I also started to get the ball rolling when it comes to the writing department thanks to the comic I still am working on which basically made me slowly step away from my perfectionist tendencies and just, y'know, fucking write lol. So you only guys currently only get to see the comic, but that wasn't the only thing I've written. I have some key scenes written and others outlined already which are mostly more serious than the comic and invloves a lot of the main storyline and the worldbuilding I already have layed out over the years. Also needless to say, the map and worldbuilding notes are definetly doing a lot of heavy lifting so thanks past self! Also among the things I have written, I have completed the first chapter of my ocs' storyline! Of course it's a tad clunky in some areas since I don't have much experience yet, so i shall revisited and tweak it once I have more of a handle on things. But I'm still pretty excited about it since it's a first step and I can work on the next chapters little by little soon. Oh btw, I don't have my writing posted atm since I'm trying to practice more first and be less of a perfectionist.

So now moving on to goals. First of all, as you guys prolly noticed my art seems a lot more simpler this year, especially when it comes to backgrounds, which is definetly not something I had planned and just came up due to time restraints. So needless to say I wanna draw decent backgrounds again even tho they are pretty much pain to me, but hey if I managed to learn not painful looking hands why not lol. I also wanna do more traditional art and studies. Of course not sure if I'll have time to do so, since I didn't really managed to do anything I wanted to do last year so we shall see. I have some plans of specific stuff which i wanted to do this year but shall be carried over to the next. A lot of them are character designs of new characters and redesigns, redraws of my older stuff and some new stuff which I have the thumbnail sketches pinned on my corkboard. Pretty vaugue I know, but kinda hard to explain without showing the shit ton of moodboards, thumbnail sketches and notes I have laying around lol. So have a spoiler of one of the things on the list, ya girl is working on designing the royal family and alt versions of my characters a few years into the canon timeline. Oh and also redrawing that one execution drawing and the devil's fang one I had those two on the chopping board for a while. So we'll gotta wait and see what I shall be pumping out next year. Of course I have other stuff I wanna work on next year, but most of them are personal so I'm keeping them to myself lol.

Before I leave, I wanna thank my friends for sticking around this year, especially when I needed them most, especially my best friend, so if any of you peeps are reading this, you know who you are lol. I would also like tho thank you guys, my whatchers and random passerby for all your support and lovely comments! Ngl it's pretty motivating lol.

Also the template is from Mossygator on twitter. The one I used it's the 2021 version which I edited myself, since tbh the new one was pretty awkward to use for my stuff.
