("Grandi luci!" – e' un saluto comune)

Thank you, Alejandro! It was a painstaking process to find the right exposure as the nave is far brighter than the aisles, so I am really happy that it turned out this well. For the composition part, this is what I really like in the tethered photography, it gives all the composition advantages that the old fashioned large format cameras gave with their matte glass sheet, except this is not upside down (but I can turn the tablet the other way, if I want ) Even the sharpness may be controlled almost the same way, though the loupe is a feature in the app, not an actual glass thing But this method lets me photograph slowly, putting everything under my control and makes me think before shoot, almost like the large format cameras. It often gives a feel of lacking something—when I shoot "by hand" I do several takes to get spare images for the hand shake, timing failure, blinks and whatnots. In thethered mode I do two shots only—the second one for backup in case of a possible file corruption. It also involves more conscious theme selection, as set up needs time, too. So it is almost like working with a large wooden camera that so many photographers praise. I think the result is self-explanatory

Check out for this Manfrotto Pixie Evo 2, it is small, fits into a large pocket or a belt pouch, and almost firm enough to hold my gripped 5D Mk IV and EF 24-105 (almost 3 kgs). With your Rebel T3i and a medium heavy lens it will be a bless if you can get one. Its price is in the "almost affordable" range, cheaper than a Joby Gorilla Pod and way more solid than the Vanguard and other micro statives. Of course it could help you if you can shoot from ground level or you find a spanful flat area to put it on (its extendable legs can spread quite big gaps firmly). I was on the edge with the heavy gear but even so with a little extra care I could manage shots like these In certain cases when I tried to use it without thethering and release the shutter by hand, I achieved a special type of light painting (okay, I'll be honest: a nasty motion blur) but a 10sec self release solved the problem. 2secs weren't enough though.
Anyway, you can thether Rebel T3i, too, but only with a quality USB cable to any Android or iOS device. It is a pain for the first couple of trials, but after some practice it is a bless! Even if the screen is not much bigger than the camera LCD, it will go independent. You can use strange angles, shake-free operation with an ease. A Canadian friend even does street photography with his camera on his lap, and chimping the phone screen (actually remote controlling the camera). He took great candid shots and got many followers on G+ and 500px. (But first of all, he is talented, too!)
