Made me feel the sun on my face, and the river rocking the boat gently, and the smell of water and fresh foliage... thank you!

YAY! ROUX! This is one of my all time favorite Johnny Depp movies! It was my first time getting to hear him play, yeah he REALLY played all of that in the movie. Its because of this movie and him i took up the guitar. Man, i want that type of guitar so badly! The line when Anouk said pirates had come to Lascony and when she saw him said. "I bet he's the captain." made me crack up since i watched this right after i had seen pirates for the first time when it came out. Who knew he would be playing a pirate captain later on in his career?!

Your work is once again breath taking. I am so impressed with what you have done with it. BRAVO!

Yes this is one of Depp's nicer films isn't it? I watched it with my mom a while back and was really suprised to find him in it! I guess he will be Capt'n Sparrow forever in my mind. I'm really amazed at the ropes and cords and stuff in this. Working with graphite, how do you manage to keep the strings white on the frettboard and all that? Skill, baby. Skill. Those patterns on the fabric are just so amazing! Wow. I mean... wow! How cool! To be able to do something like that... It's just awesome is what it is. You know what? I'm going to have to learn some new superlatives. Yes indeed. And the sad thing is, in my little group my vocabulary is pretty darn good. Ah well, I guess I'll grow into something better. I'd better work on it though. Especially if I'm going to keep looking at your work. I'll need 'em for sure!

I did so love this movie. It's one of the few movies that I thought improved greatly over the book it was based on. All the characters were delightfully original and at the same time so recognizable. That was my first attempt at a guitar, so there was a lot of trial and error (still some error left I'm afraid). White strings? Colour in the negative space! As for fabric patterns, it helps to ignore that I'm drawing a pattern and just concentrate on the shapes in the photo reference. Thank you for such an enthusiastic comment. I really appreciated it.

Trees are not my favourite, but I've made a valiant effort to do them anyway because I like how they look when they're done--but they are spectacularly boring to draw. Thank you for commenting. This is from the movie Chocolat starring Juliet Binoche and Johnny Depp.
