THANK YOU.
People are such asses when I tell them I have it. Yah, MDD. Yes, it sucks. It's like "thanks for reminding me how much it repulses people, people who DON'T EVEN HAVE or SUFFER FROM IT". It's sickness, not a "choice". We don't "choose" to be sick.

I've had people in the past say that I was "fake" or just "overreacting" whenever I said I was feeling depressed. I used to get made fun of it last year because I didn't even see the harm in being honest.
I never thought that people would be so harsh and think that I was a sociopath or crazy.
I don't understand people. Ever since then I haven't told anybody about my problems except for one of my friends who is very understanding and supportive.
The stigma really needs to stop. People don't discriminate against people with physical illnesses such as cancer.

I've always wondered what my life would if I didn't have ADD, bipolar, and borderline personality disorder. I hate that I have to be on medication, and I have to see therapists to see what exactly is wrong me, it embarrasses me and people are very ignorant of what I have to deal with.

ADD and Social Phobia here. Quite neurotic as well they say. I have to say that I have always been ashamed for it and there are those people who tell me, itΒ΄s my own fault so I try to avoid talking about it. Most people donΒ΄t wanna know it anyway...

Yeah, unfortunately. And I was blessed with no less than 3 other diagnoses beside from bipolar disorder, and that's not counting in social phobia, and some possible anxiety-depressive disorder (I think my anxiety and depression are counted into one of my other disorders, though I'm not really sure, my doctor and psychologist is reaaaaally vague. Like they never told me the fact that I'm at risk of developing schizofrenia, which I first heard of in my medical journals)

As someone who knows a lot of people struggling with bipolar my heart goes out to you. I have schizophrenia myself, and I agree there's just plain ignorance in society at large in regards to mental illness. But there's a lot more people living with mental illness of all kinds, functional, that people have no clue about. It's saddens me that so many people get perceptions about it from bad hollywood thrillers and inaccurate news reports that try to make mentally ill people in general as violent dangerous individuals, when in reality 'normal' people are actually way more dangerous statistically.
The mentally ill are more harmful to themselves, and what they have to deal with on a day to day basis doesn't help anything. Thanks for making the stamp.

I have HFA but when i have telled this to my friends, they didn't changed their views of me. One just said: 'Now i understand!'
And everything has remained the same.
But pregiudices still remain around us.

It really is inexcusable. People with mental illnesses need more respect, it's sad how acceptable it is to be prejudice against them.

I always hesitate to express myself in any kind of way be it written or verbally because mostly I am always hurting from my mental illness. I honestly don't think there is any answer regarding the idea of stigma, so far I haven't been wrong. Pain is no fun to be around, it seems that simple rather than an us and them thing. I honestly don't know for sure, but maybe I do.

I have Schizophrenia and alot of the time I am ashamed, not that I've told anyone.
I just don't feel I could tell anyone, having a mental illness people suddenly change their views on you and treat you differently.

It sickens me knowing we still live in a world where people will willingly dismiss information concerning mental illness, and where the easiest and most encouraged option is to isolate/ ignore a person... along with assuming the individual like toootally made that up *shakes head*.
They are the same people who sit back and enjoy the creations great people contributed to our society, majority who had a mental illness of somesort.
I appreciate the fact you made such a stamp, come on, it's the 21st century- we have got to get our act together!

Cannot thank you enough for this stamp!
I'm currently living with depression, and I've gotten all sorts of bullshit, from "the meds are making me this way" to "I'm just oversensitive".
I serioulsy think there should be more attention to the fact that mental disorders are just as "normal" as any disorder like diabetes or high blood pressure.
