You should check tamiya weathering master sets. You can hit it with a flat top coat before. My favorite is Mr. Hobby.Β
But generally whatever works for you...Β

That's okay. I'm a little slow on the reply myself.
I've been working on the plans for a HGUC custom of the good old Gundam Ground type, so I've been browsing the internet for inspiration, regardless of grade.Β

I was dreaming of a model and colors just like this! Except it had dual rabbit-ear masts pointing out in place where the v-fin would be, with chest cannons on each side, and tile armor on the ankles. This ones awesome!

I'm not sure how to answer your question.
Are you familiar with gunpla?
Or are you already a modeller and want to know how to paint and weather your kits?

HobbyV In reply to ralkon [2012-07-15 21:24:31 +0000 UTC]
yes. it's lots'a fun!
I'd suggest you to buy a "High grade" model and some basic tools (an 'xacto knife, pliers, file and sanding paper) to start. HGUC line are very cool, relatively simple and so a very good place to start. You don't need to paint your first models too. They come molded in color.
but before you begin to actually build any models, anything that i'd say here will be very abstract.
after a couple of those, you'll want to paint your models too. i'll help you as much as i can then ^_^

whats HG? and 1/144?
π: 0 β©: 1
HobbyV In reply to ralkon [2012-07-16 06:40:24 +0000 UTC]
HG is a line of Gumdam related models from Bandai. They are entry level models. Cheaper than Master grades. They mostly come in 1/144 scale. Most of them are 12-14 cm tall. Master grades are 1/100 and 20-25 cm or bigger.
HGUC means High Grade Universal Century. Models from the original gundam series and it's spinn-offs. They are the best of HG models in my opinion.

HobbyV In reply to ralkon [2012-07-17 20:42:41 +0000 UTC]
i also think they should not have any feelings or emotions other than hunger.
since it's all about biochemistry and stuff, and them being undead...

there reason to keep going? they use unknowing humans as sport they view humans as mere animals, the story that I'm writing is about the first Vampire Slayer, do you think that they should be faster and more coordinated then humans?

no i mean what if the vampires didn't protect the humans they hunted them?
π: 0 β©: 1
HobbyV In reply to ralkon [2012-07-18 04:10:50 +0000 UTC]
that's getting old now.
they don't need to hunt. they "breed" them. and justify what they do by saying that humans are what they are because of their influence. just like we humans do for "lesser" creatures.

HobbyV In reply to ralkon [2012-07-18 06:44:22 +0000 UTC]
just mixing and matching the stuff from what i've seen and read.
in my head, i was combining "the brave new world" and George Orwell's "1984" with a vampire background :-p
the movie "equilibrium" is like that without the vampires. and some stuff added from "fahrenheit 451".
you can count "the Daybreakers" too. It was not a good movie but i did like the theme.
i think that genre still deserve a little bit more exploring.
like what if suddenly an awareness wakes in the internet? as mass media denies the existence of vampires, more and more people start to notice supernatural beings. thanks to smartphones and digital cameras and youtube etc. "Bigend Cycle" from William Gibson is a good read i think. No vampires there but a very good example of modern sci-fi. with apple computers and i-phones and e-mails and stuff. nothing too cyber-punk. "Pattern Recognition", "Spook Country" and "Zero History".
