Description And here we are with the second of the three Forge World Dwarf miniatures. I thought that the Forge World Slayer was hard, but the chainmail on this fellow was a labor to say the least. I also realized that all of the dwarfs that I've painted save for one, have youthful colored beards. I reckoned a miniature like this deserved to be older, wiser, thus the grey/white beard.

This is an insane amount of detail. When I paint miniatures, I tend to delight in chain-mail because it goes so fast (1. undercoat black or dark grey, 2.dry-brush silver on top to bring out the detail,  3. then a dark wash to make them look old) but yours has such an amazing look to them - almost like you touched up each and every ring. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS??

seriously though. The braiding on the axe handing, the hair, the patterned hem on the tunic.... *drools*... you sir, are a god.

Heh, yep, each ring was touched up with Citadel brand Mithril Silver. Forge World minis have a great deal more detail than normal GW minis. I'm no god, but a fellow that started out with crude skills, and has been practicing and having fun with a cool hobby for years now. Still, thank you for the kind words.

How tall are they? I work on minis for D&D - most are under an inch. So, magnifying glass mounted to my desk and teeny tiny brushes haha. (I like to mod them too. I use "green stuff" - epoxy clay that enables TONS of detail in small spaces. So I add cloaks and fur and tunics and stuff.)

That's insane that you put so much effort into it. And it really shows. I think painting miniatures is such a weird art form, and I so rarely come across it that I get over-excited when I do haha.

Most of the minis I paint are 30 mm in height. It's a tiny bit bigger than 1 inch.

that's still itty bitty. Fantastic work.

I checked out the Forge World website. Didn't realize it was 40K dwarves! haha.
