again a speedpainting just for funalso the return off the fantasy castle landscape.
this is a pretty rough version though.
I deff could work on this piece over & over again.

This is just beautiful! I have a grandson who was pretending to be a knight and I needed a castle for the background of a quick page I was doing for my bragbook. It is just PERFECT!!!! I will post it on my page when I am done. Thank you so much!!!

Great lighting! Heh, trust me to notice something boring like that first. But recently I was attempted to colour something digitally for a change and I was putting some shading in, and then I looked at it and suddenly realised that all the shadows were on the same side as the light source.
Anyway, yes, great lighting and those squiggly trees on the right are lovely. Overall the whole scene is fanatastically layed out, its a beautiful dreamy fantasy scene.

about the shading just keep on practicing.
it happens to everyone.
I mostly work in greyscale first.
that helps alot with my shading choices.
working from the beginning in color is something I find difficult.
but I'm working on it.

yes it can be a real lifesaver.
it lets you focus on the values,shapes & overall lighting.
than you can add & paint over color & details.
but it can also become a crutch & that's not good for the learning proces.
so in between my usual works I practice using color directly & sketching from referencephotos.

meer is altijd goed. Ze zeggen dat je iets 10.000 uur moet doen voordat je iets volledig onder de knie hebt. Je kunt maar beter alvast beginnen!
