Aah, I love your work so much. This is great. How long on average does it take you to do a sketch like this? Just curios. Brilliant as usual. And he looks a bit pirate-y so more power to him. Digging the tattoo's too. Love it!

Thanks so much! He wouldn't mind comparisons to pirates. They weren't merchant sailors (or sailors employed at all) so they were a very rough and ridiculous crowd.
A sketch like this takes, ohhh, maybe three or so hours of solid work? Once I know how I want him to be positioned, it doesn't take tooooo long. I'll pay closer attention to the next one I do and be more helpful ahahaa

This is incredible, I love how strong the lines are.
I can't put my finger on exactly what really makes me like it though...
Maybe because it's a bit simple, but has so much detail too... if that makes sense. 
He looks very contemplative.
