Wow, great job! I just got started with Painter this weekend too! The best part of your work the facial resemblance. There're lots of Rei pictures on the net, but few of them actually look like her. Yours is particularly good in this respect.

my bad. I thought "original" meant it was originally a lineart image you made. anyways, I still like the colorization a lot, especially for using Painter the first time. The shading gives it a lot of depth. What "media" ("oil" "acrylic" ...) did you use in Painter?
