Description
This was a printing project that, out of some kind of insanity, I decided to make a full scale sculpture. I built all of it out of wire and printed silk (in the case of the circles) and strung it all together with kite string. The head had to be hand painted. It's fashioned after a real oriental dragon kite, but can't fly because the wire and dowels make it far too heavy. The traditional ones were made out of bamboo. I hear they fly very well in not too much wind, for all that they're awfully funny shaped. Sorry for the lame picture. It's VERY hard to photograph something like this.
