Description A broken beauty...

This has to be one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. The cropping isn't perfect, the colors needed so much work... but in the end... I look at it and I can see the character I was trying to create with the makeup... and the hours of work were all worth it. The hundreds of miles driven were all justified... and the friendship made... life changing.

Your makeup skills are incredible; I love the lighting on her face and the makeup used to create the bruises. I've always wanted to learn how to create wounds with makeup, but never had the patience. Your effort shows through though; well done!

Thank you so much. 8D

Bruising is easy enough. You'd be surprised how much forgiveness you have with wounds on a model. It's suppose to be messy. It's suppose to be blurred. The hard part is creating 3d illusions with 2d materials and keeping 3d effects from looking 2d and featurless. Which is where skills like bruising come in. If you wanna learn how to do wound makeup, you only have to start. thousands of videos on youtube explain how to create a basic bruise, cut, bullet hole, broken/missing limb, ect.

Just have a clear idea in your mind of what you want. Look at your materials and see what you are capable of. And adapt, adapt, adapt. Once you start, it'll be a WORLD of awesome fun.

uh i like this one, love the scar and the red and blue tones on her skin

I am not sure how much is edit and how much makeup but it is really amazing i wished Β you would do cosplay with makeup skills like that woah !Β
i think the girl looks really calm and "poor " in this work, there is not much zombie here but i would never trust a zombie and little girls uh they are the creepiestΒ

Thank you. The cuts and stitches are actually there. The bruises were touche up a bit in post because I was using CRAP halloween make up that didn't' mix well with liquid latex. So her face looked navy blue when the all dried out.

This zombie was a bit odd as my first zombie girl since she's a "recovering zombie".

S.G. Browne's "Breathers" Very good book. Highly suggest.

Thank you. 8D This is a composite. The scar was and stitches are real but I had to retouch the bruising in post. It was my first time doing a zombie makeup with a storyline.

i absolutely love it! i have a question though... would you mind if i use this picture as a book cover on wattpad? i will give you all the credit for it i promise! i would like to use this picture because the book is about a girl that is half zombie, half regular person and i think this picture fits it perfectly. but still great job with this pic ^.^ its awsome!

This is great I love he colors in the upper part of her forehead and the light effect are great too. I love that he looks deep in thoughs too and not the standard agressive pose that people do with zombie girls. I came across that searching for picture to represent a girl half death and half alive to a post in tumblr. Can I post it with credits of course, or would you prefer not to? Is ok either way, you're a great artist.

Thank you for your kind words. You don't know how much that means to me lately.

This was literally from my first photoshoot with a real model who knew how to interact with the camera. Lots of fun. A lot of my personal emotions went into this set. I had a whole story in my mind for the zombie girl. Heavily inspired by the book "Breathers".

And yes. Feel free to post and leave a credit link. I'd much appreciate it. 8)
