is almost like he's part of a sad earth itself . . . "the last Mohican."

Very nice. Very lonely somehow. The stock you used for the orangutan has the perfect expression for the feeling in this piece.

Appreciate - and agree about the original photo of the orangutang, that's what got me to do this...
Will miss them when they have became extinct, and that is in part why its titled "Dark Autumn" - as well as the playing with the light in the image...

I had a feeling that was the case. I honestly didn't note the title. I would say you were very successful in concept and follow-through. Faved it.

Very pretty. I love the colors and the mood of the image. Somehow the monkey feels a little off, though, I think he lacks a shadow.
But overall I really like it.

Magnificent work, and it's so nice to see a manip that doesn't feature some girl in a fantasy dress.

This is wonderful... The lighting is just right... You always do fantastic work... May I ask how long this one took you.

A couple hours - then coming back and trying to see things missed when first thought it was done.
Was done in stages, first knew the orangutang would be the central focal point... so created the foreground, matching / changing the shades of colors in the elements I used - to complement it. Then added the further background elements to try to give it some light and added depth.
Find doing the "nature" settings is for me - the easy part... it's integrating the models and creating depth in an image that presents the challenge, and having the patience to come back... and see where shadows and highlights need adjusting.

This is a very different sort of direction for you. I'm curious to see if you'll be doing more in this more natural style.

Appreciate, and from time have done nature and landscape scenes... and jump around the various genres, depending on - if I have found a particularly interesting stock photo that I want to do something with... usually found when searching for something completely different of course - LOL...

I know right, you never seem to find what you actually really need until months after you start looking for it. Found a lot of neat things that way myself.
