Description
"I want to go places that I've never been Rome, California, Paris, Berlin
I want to see things that I've never seen
Quietly happy and live by the sea
They say don't go out
Don't get lost in the dark
Don't go in too deep
Don't swim out too far
They say don't go out
Don't go out too fast
'Cause I feel it all and I need to live a little at last
I wanna stay out all night say hello to the dawn
Creep back to bed they'll never know I was gone
Write songs through the day be alone with my thoughts
Spend time with the ones I've always adored" - Live, Billie Marten

“Here you go Piti.” Tormund handed Piti the inflatable ring. “Don’t float out too far, alright? We’ll be here scavenging for any treasure about.”
Piti, a woolyne of little words nodded as always and bound off to the shore with a shy smile tugging at her mouth.
Tormund and Fenir watched her wade into the water and ease herself onto the doughnut ring. ‘She seems happy,’ Tormund mused.
It seemed like Fenrir had read his mind. “It’s nice seeing Piti a little more carefree.”
Tormund nodded. “I don’t suppose she gets much of a holiday, ever.” He scratched his beard and gazed out onto the glittering water, watching the small pink figure bobbing obediently with the waves. “Not once since I’ve known her.”
“Why, that can’t be quite right. She disappears a lot, right?” Fenrir leaned towards Tormund lowering his voice, despite the fact Piti was far too distant to catch any of the conversations.
“She studies intensively while she’s away.” Tormund held out his hand to pass Fenrir his drink. “Or at least she tells us that, she could be off somewhere relaxing on shores whiter than these. Honestly, I’d prefer that. She’s had a hard time. Mostly, I try to leave her to it, I don’t want to smother her.”
“Hm...” Fenrir stared thoughtfully out to where Piti was paddling gently through the soft current. “Sometimes I do wonder what goes on in her cryptic little head though.”

‘Giant squid.’ Piti suddenly peered into the crystal clear waters beneath her, eyes wide and alarmed. ‘I do hope there are no giant squid. Or I will make a very bony, small snack. Do giant squid eat Woolyne?’ She shook her head and peered up at the sky, squinting as the suns rays outstretched to meet her view of the giant clouds on the horizon. ‘Enough of that. I’m meant to be relaxing, remember?”
Piti sighed at her own notion. Relaxation had hardly been a common theme in the last 2 years for her. On the contrary, she had been plagued by trauma and a whirlwind of events, which had left her in a place mentally where relaxation was quite an unaffordable luxury. She hadn’t thought of much else than her parents since they had passed. Any other moment she wasn’t thinking of them, she was thinking of her mysterious grandma, who had been elusive enough while she was alive, but after her passing had become even more difficult to understand. It had all been a lot for Piti. And if not for kind woolyne caring for her...well it didn’t bear thinking about where she might be in that circumstance. Pretty much everyone in Seawynne knew the loud, charming Tormund with his wide array of skills, a wider array of scars and an endless supply of stories to tell. When he took her under his wing, she soon became the talk of the town, the mysterious woolyne with the tragedy on her back. How bizarre that the fast-paced, youthful Tormund forever in trouble would take care of a child. There were many rumours and it had felt rather burdensome at first, but she had soon adjusted to the shantytown’s circles of gossip. However much she disliked the chit-chat, Seawynne had become her home.
It had become far busier over the last few weeks, due to the treasure hunts taking place along the coast. The shores had been bustling with bright new faces, and far more of these creatures called Selpies had appeared mysteriously. Even now, peering round she could see woolyne coasting along in groups of them, cheering and nudging each other into the water.
Piti pushed away from the sore feeling of envy and shut her eyes, letting the sun warm her fur and the ocean cradle her. She suddenly felt rather drowsy in the comfortable warmth, indeed, very cosy and very drowsy...

“Erm, Torm.”
“Mmhmm?” The ginger woolyne replied melodically, his paws deep into a trench in the sand. No luck yet.
“I can’t see Piti.” Fenrir sounded concerned.
Tormund shot up, nose dusted with the fine powdery sand. “What?”
“Unless...that speck is her. That...can’t be. It’s really far out!”
Tormund shielded his eyes from the midday sun with his hand, frantically looking. “Mazrim above. I told her to stay close! She’s not waving or anything.” He ran his hands through his hair, thinking, his brow furrowed in worry. Fenrir ran off in search of help, as Tormund waded out to his waist, calling her name. “Piti! Piti, are you okay?!” The tiny figure out far didn’t respond or move at all.
Two woolyne came charging into the water after Tormund minutes later, one was Fenrir and the other was a large grizzled sea-touched woolyne he had not met before. Seatouched, Torm thought. Good job Fenrir, they should be able to help.
“Your comrade here says that child out there is yours? I’m Bonnie, I breed the majority of selpies you see.” Bonnie’s voice was flat and gruff, but her face betrayed determination as she gazed out to Piti.
“Please help us out, I don’t know how to otherwise get her back to us.” Tormund pleaded.
Bonnie said nothing, but instead let out a sharp whistle, causing both Fenrir and Tormund to wince. The air hung still for a few moments before a huge silhouette glid through the water towards her. The creature popped its head up, snorting and blinking blissfully as Bonnie stroked its nose.
“Mari, lets go help this kid out eh?” She turned to Tormund. “Come with me, if she’s unconscious as I suspect for any reason I might need help lifting her out.”
Tormund quickly nodded, and they both hurried onto Mari’s shell, leaving Fenrir to watch incase they signalled for any reason.
They tore through the waves at an alarming speed, and Tormund was quietly impressed at how easily the creature navigated the waves. They neared Piti in no time, and Tormund began calling out to her. She didn’t stir, or call back, and Tormund’s heart crumpled with worry. ‘I should’ve watched her more carefully, I know how distracted she can be.’
Mari slowed as Piti neared, and Tormund climbed into the water and paddled towards her. “Piti!” He pulled the inflatable towards him, and to his relief, Piti began to stir. She snored suddenly in surprise upon blearily opening her eyes from her sea slumber and seeing her friend hanging onto the side of her floatie. “...Torm?” she croaked sleepily.
Tormund almost laughed in relief. “Piti, I thought something had happened to you! I’m so glad you’re alright...trust you to fall asleep! I’m sorry for not watching you.”
Piti said nothing in response, instead smiling sheepishly at him and looking up at Bonnie and her selpie.
Bonnie couldn’t help but smile at the two. ‘I’m Bonnie. Piti is it?” her deep voice was thick with humour. “Well Piti, next time you’re drowsy let me know, I have plenty of inn recommendations nearby. And their beds are significantly less wet!”
