Ughghghghgghgh. I'm in Painting class now (starting tuesday) and MOTHER FUCK buying all that paint set me back. And I think I have to buy more because I'm too weak to open the old paints I have :[ Curse my lack of upper body strength.

Paint is expensive

A good exercise for back pain is you lay flat on your back and bring both knees to your chest, then you extend one leg outstretched and bring it back to your chest then stretch the other one and keep alternating for about 20 times. Works great for me when i've telescoped my spine over inking. That and DDR for some reason~

Acrylics or oil? Pre-jessowed or did you make the whole canvas from scratch?

Oil! and the canvas is Pre-jessowed. I think me making my own canvas will only end in tears. Beautiful, glorious tears.

You have no idea what ultimate despair is until you try to stretch canvas and manually jessow it after awkwardly pounding together a wooden frame ;_____;

I've heard oil is less static than acrylic, but how well/soon does it dry between coats?

Depends on the brand of paint and this was something i did not know until last week! Also it takes about 2 or 3 days or something. I guess it depends on how much you are putting down. What I like about oils is that if you don't like something you can just erase it with some turpenoid or turpentine. I also like that it doesn't hurt my wrist to paint with real paint as opposed to a tablet :[. What I DONT like is that I can't get some of these goddamned tubes opened still!
