Catching on some artwork posting here to DA... For the latest, most current stuff, be sure to follow me on Twitter: twitter.com/matthermsI've done a couple Smash Bros pics before - one featuring ALL the characters in Brawl, and another featuring MOST of the characters in Smash4WiiU. And I wanted to do another - but this time take it back to the good old days. The original's max of 12 characters is definitely ALOT easier to layout into a single image, that's for sure!
N64 Smash was probably the one I spent the most time playing. I was 14 at the time, and it and Goldeneye were staples at parties and sleepovers amongst my friends. (I also logged quite a bit of time into Melee, but by the time it came out most everyone in my high school had gravitated over to X-Box and the newly released Halo.)
Pencils and inks on 11x14 Bristol board, colors in Photoshop 7.

You know, there's something about the Original 12 that makes them stand out from the characters that debuted in Melee, Brawl and 4. It's become an unofficial tradition for them to be in every Smash game without fail.
Am am I the only one who would love to see a series featuring these twelve characters banding together to fight evil? It's just that, to me, the Original 12 are Nintendo's answer to the Avengers mostly due to the fact that they're all heroes in their respective continuities. This drawing does them justice.
