Description Everybody who's been flying over several time zones or otherwise interrupted the day and night order, know the feeling. This feeling of time-warp when the clock says some thing which doesn't make sense at all. The desire to have lunch at 3 in the night or go to sleep at five in the afternoon.

I started on this after returning home from New York in August, feeling all weird, then I lost interest, but managed to finish it this weekend.

And I owe Dalí for those clocks of course, even if mine are not painted but photoshopped photos.

Bthw - it was §@£$#¤%& near impossible to find a category for it. I had wanted to post it in vehicles, but there are no such category with mixed digital media, so I ended up labelling it 3D even if it contains photographs (The clocks) and paintings (the face and garment details on the lady and the abstract time and clock symbols)

Tools: Terragen, Poser, MicrographX, Camera, Photoshop and FANTASY

Glad you liked it I made this one when I too had gone through the very same ordeal. It was in the middle of the night but still late afternoon for me and I couldn't go to bed, was simply too wide awake. So I started this!

Thanks a lot I was working on capturing the feeling of flying through time-zones and loosing your soul somewhere along the way and then have to wait for it to catch up! And I have to thank Dalí too for the clocks.

I *love* this, especially the surreal feel and how everything blends together so nicely, and definitely captures the mood.

I think the worst jet-lag I have ever had was when I flew from San Francisco to Atlanta...took me a day to get over it. Ironically, when I flew to and from Europe, it did not seem as bad. I think that going back helped me get on a better sleep schedule (I would go to bed earlier), although when I flew back from Italy, I kept waking up at 5 AM .

Hera-of-Stockholm In reply to hissylizard [2006-11-27 17:55:12 +0000 UTC]

Thanks alot

Same happens to me when I go west, I wake up early! Like when I came from Japan last year just before Christmas and went right away visiting mum and dad. And I was wide awake and up at 6, and dad was like because I never rise before 11 when I'm on hol's.

Hera-of-Stockholm In reply to hulksmash25 [2006-11-20 18:26:28 +0000 UTC]

At least long flights do, shorter flights are OK, especially compared to using train or car the same way. Flight 1hour, train 4hours, car 6hours + you can't go to the bathroom when needed I hate being on the highway or in a line and having to .

It looks like surrealism to me, especially with the clocks. So you could put it under digital art, surreal. I really like this one. It's appealing just as an image. You think you have to fly to experience this? I experience this just by LIVING! LOL

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hera-of-Stockholm In reply to PatGoltz [2006-11-12 13:04:30 +0000 UTC]

Yes of course, you can experience jet lag just by doing things like staying up late at night and then sleep off almost all the rest of the day. Happens to me now and then when I work from home, I end up not being able to stop until it's like 4 in the night, and then I sleep to noon or smth. And it doesn't really help that this season is such a dark one, with almost perpetual twilight.

PatGoltz In reply to Hera-of-Stockholm [2006-11-14 03:14:30 +0000 UTC]

I experience jet lag if I DON'T stay up late at night and sleep most of the rest of the day! If I have to get up early, I'm in trouble. Yes, this time of year, I understand, can be very depressing in those latitudes. Some people can handle it, and some not. I probably wouldn't notice that much because I'm constantly busy, but I'd certainly notice the cold. Twilight can provide some interesting opportunities for photography. I have seen some absolutely gorgeous photography from that time of year in that area. In fact, the nicest part is having a nearly perpetual sunset part of the time.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hera-of-Stockholm In reply to PatGoltz [2006-11-14 20:31:18 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but the problem at least where I live is that the sky is overcast 9 out of 10 days if not more around these seasons, so there are hardly any good opportunities for sunset photography.

It's because of the Golf Stream, it brings in warmer weather (or we would have it nearly as coold as in Siberia here) but also a lot of clouds and rain. And that makes it even darker. Today I didn't have to go to work but could connect from home, so I ended up sleeping almost to noon. I woke up at 6.30, that's true and had to go to the bathroom, but then I went back to bed, feeling it too early to rise yet, thought that - I'll cooze'n'snooze for some 40 minutes - and then I was
