The scanner can't seem to do this photo justice, this is probably my favourite photo i've ever taken, taken on an old Zenit SLR at a local quarry a long time ago, the black bar at the top of the picture is a wooden rail, this was Bonnie our old Springer/Labrador cross bitchsadly missed

Lovely photo. I quite like the washed out look the scanner gives it. It makes it seem like a memory.
I had a dog, Sid, who passed away when I was 16. He was nearly 18 years old, so he'd always been there. It was hard adjusting to him not being around.

I didn't grow up with her quite like you and Sid, we had her from puppy but i was already grown, for you the loss would have been far greater as you were connected from childhood, i share your pain

This is a powerful picture that looks like a dog trying to find her home. I love more because I also have a dog that's a black lab. She is only 2 though so I don't have to worry about her heath, but there will be a time when i do. :/
Dogs always make you go soft when they are in pictures with those big waiting, loyal eyes. This picture though has the dog looking away but it still makes a big impact. How the background is just an open field with dead grass all around and the low depth of field is just amazing. This picture is my favorite.
And I'm sorry for your lose. It is always hard to leave your best friend.

the depth of field plays with the eyes, you wouldn't know it but she is sat near the edge of a quarry, the scan washed this image out a fair bit

As the dog-fanatic person I am I really understand the feeling - my dog Sigge is 13 years old by now and I'm really scared of the day that he'll be gone. I've grown up with him since I was five, and there is no world I can imagine without him.
And dogs are better people than people, have always been and will always be. The only fault dogs have is their short lives.

no these are not faults, these are just small quirks that make us love them more for their simplicity, simplicity that masks unfathomable loyalty, honesty, compassion and unfaltered love.

its ok, i think i have like an aura or something, dogs just know they are welcome with me, i make friends easily, 10 minutes of playtime with me and we'll be best friends
though of course i will want to bring Sigge home with me
