Looked through your gallery and found some beautiful drawings and oils - only a few guache’s..I suppose It’s all about using the media one feel comfortable with..Watercolor is probably not the easiest to work with, but I sort of like the intellectuel process involved when doing a painting like this..You have to do everything in an orderly, careful planned sequence in order to make it work..

Β It's not a compliment! It's truth.

Β The way you handle watercolor is very personal and original.Β  I mean "aquarelle". I use the gouache correctly enough . That's all!( some samples in my gallery)

Β Anyway, I'm a drawer. I feel easy when I have a pencil, or a pen, in the hand...

Great values... spot on anatomy and in my opinion a very subtle colorpalette...
It's great having a self portrait in the working surrounding... something I one day would like to do myself too...

Had this old, rather poor quality photo from late in his working life..
It was fun to do -Β

Well, no offence taken - he was a few years older than me when the photo was taken..
And yes , I’m a general surgeon, so I guess you could say I’m inherently tainted..
