Lately I'm addicted to Shiina Ringo's music. I love her wide music style, her performances, her voice and everything! So I wanted to make a drawing of her. I found her inspiring and I feel very identified with her music. I you have the chance, please listen to her music *the bad thing is that most of her songs are in japanese and I can't understand a word...* I'm sure you will get as addicted as me, all the friends I told about her are now ringo-addicts!!!I've used a new drawing style for me, more realistic... I hope you like it!!!
The title is because "ringo" means "apple" in japanese ^_^

Yay, I know that site, is awesome! And yes, shiina's lyrics are sometimes too complicated to translate and even to understand, but I love them! I like her music even without understanding what she says anyway.

oooh! i love shiina ringo! i've been into her for years now. her latest double CD album was great, but my favorite would have to be her first album, Muzai Moratorium. they're all awesome tho!

Do you have the double cd version? I've only listened to the album, I still couldn't get the dvd from the special version (I have to get her music from internet because it's almost imposible for me to pay for al her albums,and even more living in Spain, but it would be the only musician who I will pay for all her works O o O)

yesum, i do have the double CD version of her last album, but not the DVD package. wah! they don't sell it here in the philippines, sob! my boyfriend and i love listening to her english songs from that album, but i really love her zany japanese ones too. (even if i don't understand the japanese ones, haha!)

Here in spain we don't even have a single thing of hers.... T_T I guess japan is still a far away country for us U__U But a friend of mine is going to go there soon and she is going to buy me some shiina stuff * O *

Wow, this is an AWESOME Shiina Ringo pic! The best I've seen around so far! And it's nice to see something totally original and not just copied from some other picture or photo. Great colour palette, and I love the composition, the way it harks back to traditional Japanese woodblock prints and is also mixed with modern pop art. You really do have an insane amount of talent. This is going straight onto my Wishlist.

I feel really inspired with her music, so this is my way to thank her, even if she never see it. I don't like copying from photographs, because there is already a photograph, but I used some references to draw her as best as possible. I would love if there were more fanart about her, it's a fabolous singer that really fits well in an artwork!

Hehehe, I would love if this appears in one of her albums... but thats quite difficult XD I'm sure that coming from the artistic japan, there would be lots of wonderfull illustrators that draw her everyday
