Description Painting Daenerys was so much fun that I decided to do a little series of GoT characters. Great for practising, plus they all look so pretteeeeh~...
Soo this is Ser Jorah Mormont. I really like him, although he seems slightly shady so far. And the in-book description of him (hairy, balding and not good-looking) makes me wonder why they cast Iain Glen to play him? Way too handsome. But no complaining here... I had great fun painting this and it might just be my favorite piece that I've done so far.
Hope you like it! Next up will probably be either Jaime Lannister or Arya Stark.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this difference,
Iain Glen is way more atractive than The Lord of Bear's Island described in the books, and portrays him in such an emotive way.
Since the TV series has a slightly different story I always hoped for a better ending for him,Β 
my hopes were vainΒ

What sort of program are you using then ? My problems is : have a great realistic portrait (as your all paintings <3 ) Without lineworks. Plus, when I put shadows / lights, my character have pastics effect, something strange.. I send you an exemple :

I actually use GIMP, which is basically a free alternative to Photoshop. But in the end the software you use doesn't really matter (as long as it's not Paint ).
The thing with realism is that you really just need to practice a lot, and you will get better. There are also some amazing tutorials here on dA about how to approach digital paintings. A tutorial that really helped me when I got started was this one by Jinxiedoodle:

Generally it's also very helpful to use references if you get started. Maybe try to paint something off of a photo and try to imitate it. That way you'll learn a lot about colors and lighting, which are sooo important if you want a painting to look realistic. But in the end, it all comes down to practising a lot - and it takes time to get better. I still struggle a lot while painting as well, so you're definitely not alone. Just keep it up, and in time you'll get better. Your paintings look really promising already! ^___^

I really like him too' am i the only one who hope's he ends up hitting it off with The Mother of Dragons Khalessi Daenerys Targaryen. Now that Drogo who was 1 of my fav's has died' i hope Session 4 shows that love forms between Ser Jorah & Khalessi Daenrys. Beautiful Picture of 1 of my Fav's.

I never thought about selling prints. It is only now that I started doing all these GoT characters that I've garnered some pageviews, which is amazing ^.^ but with these characters, I think I wouldn't be allowed to sell them as prints anyway, because they are copyrighted. I would certainly consider doing requests though, so please feel free to send me a note.

I did get to it, in the meantime I only have the season 3 finale left to watch and then it's the looong wait for the new season... T___T
I realized that I only like Jorah in the series though in the books I find him kinda creepy... xD so blame it on the actor.
