Your works are really beautiful and always impressive, and not only the forging, but also the woodwork, leatherwork, and even salvaging of motorcycle chain and none of it looks remotely amateur, it's all superb, where did you learn all that ?
and btw the patterns are special here, is it because of the former form of the chain's links that were used ?

Yes, I like to recycle things. No matter if the chain is used or worn, because the steel from which it is made is still top grade. I have learned everything from the net. Unfortunately the few smiths that are still around and I met personally, searching for a proper master to learn from, are only capable of shoeing horses, making simple gards and such, they didn't even heard of welding with fire
Yes, you are right. The pattern what you see are the very components of the chain itself, you can still recognize the links and pins from it.

thanks for answering. regarding the steel of the chain, isn't hard to work with ? I heard that stainless steel is very hard to forge.

But the billet was large enough and I made another similar blade, which could be handled and sheathed in a couple of days, if you wish
