There's a reason it's become a cliche -- it's so beautiful! You chose an excellent time of day; the lighting highlights the reds and complements the browns so nicely. This photograph makes me want to walk these stairs, but at the same time, I love its emptiness.

It's my favourite shrine complex in Japan, full of natural beauty mixed with the innate calm of the whole 'shrine thing'.
